Our VACAM software was developed in-house and is well-known for its performance in automated material handling as well as buffer management. Active buffer management ensures that the first profile is in the priority line and buffers any subsequent profiles. New profiles can be loaded onto the handling systems by constantly shifting them toward the datum lines. The datum line is always supplied with material. This greatly increases productivity and efficiency as machines don't have to wait in idle mode for the next profile or production batch.

Manual coping involves performing every step by hand, including reading the drawings, transferring dimensions, measuring, framing, and cutting the beams using a handheld torch. Manual coping is a labor-intensive process that requires significant grinding and chipping to achieve the desired finish. It also involves the risk of human error regarding angles, finish, dimensions, inconsistencies, and misalignment. These inefficiencies dig into operational costs and decrease profits.

Gulf States Saw & Machine Co. has the assurance that their Robotic Coping and Profiling systems are second to none. They have a high definition plasma technology system that can cut through a wide variety of metal profiles.

Full automatic profile transportation is provided in order to integrate the machine to a fully automatic MSI beam line. Our/The VACAM software controls the sensored drag-dogs or liftables, transporting profiles onto the infeed roller conveyor and from the outfeed roller conveyor. Selected products will automatically be produced out of the trading lengths. The cross-transports are able to handle multiple profiles, allowing the machine to operate autonomously for a considerable amount of time.

Our robotic coping machine can cut seismic structural design connections (like slotted web and “dog bone” cuts), rat holes, copes at the start or end of a product, holes in every size and shape, block-outs, weld preparations, bevels, and markings on all 4 sides.

Automated marking saves time and cost in the assembly area of your workshop, and the V808 can automatically mark all four sides of the profile with its ability to completely reach all sides of the material, even the underside. When marking only three sides, assembly employees still need to perform manual measurements on the fourth side of the profile. The Voortman V808 can handle all four sides which will save time and costs in the assembly area of your workshop.

The VACAM software also comes with an Office Edition. VACAM Office Edition runs in a similar way as VACAM Control and Operating software and is dedicated to preparing your products into producible items. The user interface is focused on the preparation activities and also provides real-time insights in the material load on the system enabling you to monitor your production process. With VACAM Office, production information is available throughout the entire company.

Steel Plasma

Your operator will quickly learn to use the PCR42 Plasma cutter in less that a day. The interface is extremely user-friendly and straightforward to use. Mac-Tech will be there to assist you if needed.

Owning our Robotic Coping and Profiling system is equivalent to an optimized fabrication process that has been automated specifically to bring ease to fabricators and metalwork manufacturers as it can easily work the processes of angle lines, beam drill lines, hydraulic punches, ironworkers, band saws and coping machines respectively. This is simply a way to take your fabrication processes from zero to a hundred!

All Voortman V808 robotic thermocutting machines come with the VACAM operating system. This means that all machines speak the same language. The V808 is extremely versatile and can be used in a variety of layouts, including cross-transports and roller conveyors that are connected to other Voortman machines or as a standalone processing center.

Frequently Asked Questions

The strength tolerances of the C-beam are lower than those of the I-beam. This results in lighter components. Continue reading if you have never used C-beam profiles. Let us walk you through the basics to help you decide if it is right for you.

To increase your beam's bending capability, you will need to increase the second moment (I) if your beam design is controlled by yielding in bend (not lateral-torsional or plate buckling). This is usually done by attaching additional plates to your beam, often onto the flanges.

The blade is very thin so it works well with the pull. The steel frame's spring tension keeps the blade in place. This rigidity allows for the blade to move on both the upward and downward strokes, but it is only when the blade actually cuts that the blade cuts.

The H beam's cross section is more robust than that of the I beam. This means it can support a heavier load. The cross section of the H beam, on the other hand, can only bear direct load and tensile. However, it cannot resist twisting due to its narrow cross section. It can only bear force in one direction.

Douglas fir is perhaps the strongest of all wood beams. Although there may be a stronger wood, I don't know of any. Lumber mills today make beams in the same way as plywood. To make extremely strong structural engineered timbers, they use layers of solid wood that have been glued together.
